If you know my family, you will find this very amusing
If you don't know my family, it will give you some insight into my childhood. And into Guatebaby's probable gender.
My father has decided that until Guatebaby moves from being an indefinite to a definite article, his codename for Guatebaby will be Che.
Rock on, Dad.
ETA: Does this mean we should start our registry with this?

Your dad and that onesie are awesome.
Heh. I love it.
I want one of those for my future son or daughter! Very cool :)
Nice: Viva la revolucion!
I hope you saw "Motorcycle Diaries".........
a probable boy? aiiii!
You need it!!!! You really, really do! Hell, I may need it too.
I went to school in Cuba for a summer (state department license, no need to turn me in) and came back to the U.S. feeling very confused and out of sorts without poor Che commodified to greet me on every available surface. Then I bought a Che t-shirt at Urban Outfitters and wore it just for the wonderful, wonderful irony.
Love it!
Fabulous!
Yes, your dad truly rocks.
That's awesome, and hell yeah, you need the onesie.
You're dad is pretty cool :)
sure, you can get the kid a onesie...but who sells baby beret??
If you're suggesting you might be mom to a boy, then I'm suggesting that I'm excited for you. But then, I'm a little biased. Either way, yay!
OK, I know it is probably obvious, but still I want it all spelled out for me: did you just check "first available"?
That is really fucking funny.
YES -- you need that. i already purchased one for the child that has yet to be referred to me. Friggin' great...people's reactions to Che are even better.
Oh how cute!!!
LOL!
That is awesome!
there is nothing "cool" or "awesome" about che. an excerpt from "washington blade online":
Che was, indeed, a cold-blooded killing machine. He was personally and directly responsible for hundreds of deaths. But his thirst for blood extended beyond his personal ambition to take the lives of thousands more.
The number of homosexuals killed under the reign of horror he helped establish in Cuba is still unknown and will remain so until the death of his accomplice, Fidel Castro.
But what is known is that the forced-labor camps he started in Cuba with the founding of the Guanahacabibes camp were populated by what they considered the scum of society: gays, and later people with AIDS, as well as Christians and Afro-Caribbean priests.
Also this, from Wikipedia:
"In Cuba, labor camps were widespread after its revolution in 1959. Most of the camps were personally constructed by revolutionary leader Che Guevara. Both Fidel Casto and Che Guevara oversaw the execution and imprisonment of thousands of dissidents and former Batista officials. Castro would later adapt the penal system to include homosexuals.
